Earlier than I’d like but this is it. In the still dark morning hours is mostly quiet. It’s before I start some coffee even so it’s my time. Time for some writing and hearing some dogs get mad out front. We have these neighborhood dogs that likely do not belong to anyone but they stake some territory out and sometimes Khmer people toss some food. Maybe they fight over it. I don’t do anything with the dogs here. They are not pets. Almost wild in some ways.

I’ve been considering yet again changing this thing out for pika. There’s an ease with it I miss. I would like to stay somewhere longer but it’s never a real concern once I start writing. So I guess it may or may not happen. Last night I went downtown to eat and it’s been some time since I’ve been. The area around the river is all lit up with street food all over. Busy with a mix of Khmer, tourists, and likely expats. It’s one of the things I love about the city. The food there ranges from about $2 to $4 for decent noodles, rice or whatever. Most of all I realized the energy and vitality there. I’ve been missing that out here.

When I was downtown I bumped into yet another American I know. We talked for a bit and I shared my $6 pizza with him. I bought his beers. Then I went to have gelato. Walked back to the riverside area.

Then home. It’s kind of a downer coming back here and having the same old shit just different day.

Coffee and walking and writing

I really enjoy the morning going. Whether it’s writing some nonsense down here or there or this morning likely at Street Coffee. The walk here to a coffee shop I enjoy is my first taste of the day. So I will let this slide. Find my way here when I get there.

Finally to The Street Coffee. I really like this place.

I sit here admiring the morning and the still cool air we have been having lately. Humidity doesn’t ever feel an issue and getting only to 29 or 30 is a blessing.

I’ll decide next few weeks what I do with this writing. Now I’m happy to shake hands with GitHub. Nod at netlify. Say hello to Saturday.
